The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja has defended the national team from the criticism that they adopted a "defensive approach" against Australia.

Pakistan drew the first two matches and were left with the task of chasing down a 351-run target. The Men in Green started the day on 73-0 and lost all ten wickets while falling 115 runs short of the target.

Many cricketers, commentators, and analysts slammed Pakistan for saving face and not taking the game to the opposition in their backyard but Ramiz Raja has taken a stand against such opinions.

"Pakistan would have learned what it takes to beat the No 1 team in the world. Nobody though should question Pak’s capacity to fight," wrote Ramiz on Twitter.

In addition to that, the PCB chairman labeled the opinion that Pakistan should have chased down the targets in Karachi and Lahore as "absurd"

"Opinions regarding team to have been bold while chasing over 500 at Khi & 350 plus on a turner on day 5 at Lhr are absurd!" added Ramiz.
