Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, in a meeting on Saturday, has decided to discontinue former chairman Ramiz Raja's brainchild project Pakistan Junior League.

Cricket Pakistan earlier reported that the project nearly cost PCB PKR 1 billion. Per documents in our possession, PCB suffered a loss of PKR 996996400. The amount in dollars is approximately $4431095.

Meanwhile, the management committee agreed to revive junior series on a home and away basis which will ensure there is a pathway for the high-performing teenagers and the country continues to produce talented cricketers across all age gaps.

It was also agreed to hold discussions with the Pakistan Super League franchises to include an Under-19 player under their Emerging Categories in the playing line-ups.

On the other hand, Ramiz Raja reacted via tweet that PJL has fallen to the vendetta politics despite seven players making it to the PSL 8 emerging category and three being part of the New Zealand Test series as reserves.

“All kids need is a little help, a little hope and somebody who believes in them.” – Magic Johnson. It is so sad that PJL has fallen to vendetta politics & rolled back even though 7 of the kids made it to PSL 8 emerging category & 3 are part of Pak vs NZ as reserves.

Remember, the first edition of PJL took place in October this year.
