The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja has once again reiterated that the sole reason he took over the role was to benefit Pakistan's cricket and not to benefit his friends and family.

"I am here to work for cricket's promotion. Neither I took my wife on any official tour nor benefited any of my relatives," said Raja while speaking to National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination.

The NA committee meeting was presided over by Nawab Sher which was also attended by PCB Chief Executive, Faisal Hasnain, and NHPC Director, Nadeem Khan.

In response to a query regarding his expenses as PCB Chairman, Raja added that his family did not believe it was not a good idea to take up the PCB Chairman role as it is a thankless job.

"My family did not want me to accept the PCB Chairmanship. They knew PCB chairman gets nothing except being called out every time," he said.

The former World Cup winner also added that he did not take up the role to benefit in any shape or form.

"My salary as PCB Chairman is zero and I have not taken any unnecessary perks so far as the chairman. I have not taken an entertainment allowance and spent just 2.5 lac rupees on my official tours as of yet," Ramiz Raja further added.
