Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has dismissed rumors about his retirement from ODI cricket following India’s Champions Trophy 2025 victory against New Zealand in Dubai.

On Sunday, Jadeja played a key role in securing India’s third Champions Trophy title, hitting the winning runs in the final. Speculation had been circulating that the 36-year-old cricketer might retire after the tournament, but Jadeja quickly shut down these rumors.

To clarify the situation and address the false reports, the star all-rounder took to Instagram and posted a story that read: "NO UNNECESSARY RUMOURS" followed by folded hands and salute emojis.

Jadeja’s performance in the final was vital to India’s success. He bowled an exceptional 10-over spell, conceding only 30 runs at an impressive economy rate of 3.00, and took a crucial wicket by dismissing Tom Latham. His disciplined bowling helped limit New Zealand to 251-7.

With the match in its final stages, Jadeja also contributed with the bat, remaining unbeaten on nine runs off six balls. He hit the winning runs in the 49th over, guiding India to a four-wicket victory with six balls to spare, alongside KL Rahul.

Reflecting on the triumph, Jadeja shared his feelings after the match:

"That is how it is with me; sometimes a hero, sometimes a zero. The wicket was not easy for a new batter. Hardik and KL were great. Winning the Champions Trophy is a huge thing. If you don't win a big tournament after playing for so long, it hurts," he said on air.
