Former cricketer Abdul Razzaq has stirred up controversy with his recent comments on Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai during a media interaction attended by former Pakistani cricketers.

The session primarily focused on the strong criticism expressed by former players against the Babar Azam-led Pakistan cricket team's disappointing performance in the 2023 ICC World Cup.

When questioned about the team's performance in the mega tournament, Razzaq made a controversial statement about Aishwarya. Notably, Shahid Afridi, instead of denouncing or halting Razzaq's remarks, was observed laughing and clapping in response.

Addressing concerns about the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Razzaq used a shocking analogy to criticize their approach. He pointed out that Younis Khan's positive intentions as captain inspired confidence in him to enhance his performance. However, he emphasized a lack of dedication from the PCB in nurturing and honing players' skills.

"If you think that by marrying Aishwarya Rai a good and pious kid would be born, it would never happen,” Razzaq said.

Razzaq used this comparison to highlight the importance of pure intentions within the cricket board, suggesting that the PCB's commitment to player development should be unwavering.
