Cricket Australia (CA) Chief Executive Nick Hockley opined that the tour of Pakistan in 2022 is a big complex endeavour and they are working closely with all the parties involved to make it possible.
Australia are in line to tour Pakistan after 24 years for all-format series. CA's security advisors also came for recce this month and were satisfied with the arrangements too.
“We just had a team go over to Pakistan to do a recce,” Hockley said while speaking to reporters on the Boxing Day Test between Australia and England at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
“We’re working closely with the PCB, working with all the authorities to make sure that those plans are set. It’s a really big complex endeavour. We’re very committed to touring,” he added.
“It’ll be the first time in many, many years, so at the moment we’re going through the post reports of that. But it’s absolutely our intention to tour as long as it’s safe to do so.”
It must be noted that PCB had already revealed the schedule. The three Tests will be held in Karachi (March 3-7), Rawalpindi (March 12-16) and Lahore (March 21-25).
The white-balls games (three ODIs and a T20I) will take place in Lahore from March 29 to April 5.
