Red-hot Imam-ul-Haq leads Yorkshire to third consecutive One-Day Cup win

Pakistan’s opening batter Imam-ul-Haq continued his superb form in the One-Day Cup, smashing his second straight century to guide Yorkshire to a comfortable seven-wicket win over Lancashire.

Batting first, Lancashire put up a competitive total of 294-7 in their 50 overs, led by opener Michael Jones, who scored a brilliant 102 off 88 balls with six fours and seven sixes. George Balderson added a quick-fire 70 from 48 deliveries, while skipper Marcus Harris (32), Harry Singh (33), and Arav Shetty (27) made useful contributions.

Yorkshire’s chase was anchored by Imam, who struck a match-winning 117 off 124 balls, hitting 10 boundaries and five sixes. He shared a key partnership with William Luxton, who scored a fluent 77 off 63 deliveries. James Wharton (41* off 46) and Matthew Revis (41 off 36) then sealed the win with an unbeaten 75-run stand, as Yorkshire reached 295-3 in 46.5 overs.

With this victory, Yorkshire remain unbeaten at the top of Group B with three wins from as many matches, collecting 12 points and boasting a healthy net run rate of +2.219. They will next face Somerset on August 14 at the same venue.

Imam is currently the tournament’s leading run-scorer, amassing 331 runs in just three matches at an average of 110.33 and a strike rate of 98.21. His tally includes two centuries and a fifty, making him the standout performer of the competition so far.
