The official inauguration of the National Stadium will take place on 11th February evening
The National Stadium in Karachi is now fully prepared to host the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, has personally overseen the progress of the renovation work. Thanks to the dedication of the workers, who worked day and night, the project was completed in just 120 days.
The official inauguration of the National Stadium will take place on 11th February evening, with a grand opening ceremony. Famous singers Ali Zafar, Shafqat Amanat Ali, and Sahir Ali Bagga will perform at the event, captivating the audience with their musical talent. The ceremony will also feature a stunning fireworks display and light show. Admission for the public will be free.
"Construction work at the National Stadium began on September 28, and, by God's grace, was completed by January 31," said Mohsin Naqvi.
"The pavilion building was completely demolished and rebuilt, while new chairs have been installed in all enclosures," he added.
New LED lights, modern scoreboards, and grills have been added. The fences around the stadium have been removed to ensure better views for the cricket fans. Hospitality boxes have been renovated, and a new ring road and pedestrian bridge have been built.
Mohsin Naqvi commended the hard work of the laborers involved in the stadium’s construction, highlighting the efforts of the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), Nespak, contractors, and the PCB team. He acknowledged their tireless efforts in completing the renovation project.
"We have added world-class facilities for both cricket fans and players. For the teams participating in the Champions Trophy, we will provide the best possible facilities," he cocluded.
