Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, personally inspected the ongoing renovation work
The renovation of Lahore's iconic Gaddafi Stadium has gained significant momentum, with 80% of the total construction work now completed in just 53 days. Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, recently visited the stadium to review the progress and take a detailed tour of the ongoing construction activities.
The grey structure of the main building has been fully completed, with 100% of the work finished. Meanwhile, the pavilion building's grey structure is 90% done, and the construction of enclosures is 75% complete. The construction work for seating structures and the trench is also in its final stages.
Chairman PCB, Mohsin Naqvi, personally inspected the ongoing renovation efforts, paying special attention to the seating areas. He also admired the view from the newly constructed seating areas, which offer an improved perspective of the ground. Mr. Naqvi also visited the floors of the pavilion building and observed the work in progress.
During his inspection, Naqvi directed the installation of attractive grills along both sides of the trench, further enhancing the stadium’s aesthetic appeal.
Speaking about the progress of the renovation, Mr. Naqvi expressed his satisfaction, stating, "The work on the renovation of Gaddafi Stadium commenced officially on October 10. I am pleased to see that, within just 53 days, the work has been completed at a remarkable speed and with exceptional quality."
He continued, "The entire team is working tirelessly, day and night, to complete this project. We are committed to finishing the renovation before the Champions Trophy tournament."
The PCB Chairman emphasized that the newly renovated stadium will be world-class and state-of-the-art, capable of accommodating around 34,000 spectators. He expressed his confidence that the upgraded stadium would offer an excellent experience for fans and players alike.
The Chairman also noted, "The entire stadium is being built to international standards, and we are on track to complete the project on time."
Sumair Ahmed, Chief Operating Officer of PCB, along with the Director of Infrastructure, representatives from the Frontier Works Organization (FWO), and NESPAK officials, were present during the inspection to oversee the ongoing progress.
