In light of Sheikh Hasina's government stepping down, the Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, a right-wing group from Goa, has voiced strong opposition to the upcoming India-Bangladesh cricket series.

They argue that the series, which comprises two Test matches and three T20 internationals scheduled to take place until October 12, should be canceled due to alleged persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh.

Indian media reports reveal that the group has petitioned the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to cancel the series. The first Test is set to begin tomorrow in Chennai, with additional matches planned in Kanpur, Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad.

The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti's statement underscores their concerns about the treatment of Hindus in Bangladesh and advocates for postponing the cricket matches until these issues are addressed. They have also sent a formal letter to the BCCI, calling for immediate action.

As the series is expected to attract significant attention, the potential for disruptions due to protests at various venues looms. The response of the BCCI to these demands and the fate of the scheduled matches remain uncertain.
