Rossouw also became only the second player in PSL history to score hundreds for two different franchises
Quetta Gladiators' star batter Rilee Rossouw made history on Wednesday during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 match against defending champions Islamabad United at the Pindi Cricket Stadium.
The South African left-hander smashed a brilliant 104 off just 46 balls, registering his third century in PSL history. With this knock, Rossouw has equalled the record for the most centuries in the league, joining Multan Sultans’ Usman Khan and former Peshawar Zalmi wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal, both of whom also have three hundreds to their name.
Players with most centuries in PSL history:
Rossouw’s innings was laced with 14 fours and 6 sixes and helped Quetta post the highest-ever team total in PSL history—263/3 in 20 overs.
He was well-supported by Hassan Nawaz, who also notched up a century, scoring 100 from just 45 balls, including 4 boundaries and 9 sixes. This was the first time in the tournament’s history that two batters from the same team scored centuries in a single innings.
With this century, Rossouw also became only the second player in PSL history to score hundreds for two different franchises, matching Sharjeel Khan’s unique feat.
Rossouw’s record-equaling performance adds another milestone to an already memorable PSL campaign for the Gladiators.
