Riyan Parag delivered one of the most electrifying performances of the IPL 2025 season on Sunday, smashing a blistering 95 runs off just 45 balls. His explosive knock, which included eight sixes and six fours, nearly led Rajasthan Royals to victory, but they fell short by a single run in a thrilling last-ball finish against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens.

Though Rajasthan Royals were already eliminated from playoff contention, Parag’s sensational innings created IPL history. The 23-year-old all-rounder became the first player in the league’s history to hit six consecutive sixes across two overs, a feat never before achieved in IPL cricket.

The incredible sequence began in the 13th over when Parag took Moeen Ali to the cleaners. After hitting a six off the second ball, Parag followed it up with three more consecutive sixes on the third, fourth, and fifth deliveries. Moeen then bowled a wide, which Parag punished with yet another maximum on the final ball of the over.

But Parag wasn't finished yet. In the next over, he sent the second ball from Varun Chakravarthy over the boundary ropes, completing his historic run of six consecutive sixes.

With 377 runs from 12 matches this season, Parag has become one of Rajasthan Royals' standout players and is now among an elite group of cricketers known for hitting massive sixes in quick succession.

Here are some notable names who have hit consecutive sixes in IPL history:

Players with five consecutive sixes in IPL:

  • Chris Gayle (RCB vs Pune Warriors, 2012)
  • Kieron Pollard (MI vs SRH, 2013)
  • Rinku Singh (KKR vs GT, 2023)

Players who hit six sixes in an over (all formats):

  • Hazratullah Zazai (2018)
  • Leo Carter (2020)
  • Kieron Pollard (2021)
