HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) is known for the emergence of new talent in every season and today the cricketing world witnessed a young, selfless player by the name of Mohammad Haris.

Peshawar Zalmi handed debut to the 20-year-old, replacing veteran Kamran Akmal, for the match against Karachi Kings. Haris didn't waste the opportunity and showcased his talent.

Haris hit six off Imad Wasim on the first ball of his innings. The youngster partnered with Hazratullah Zazai to give a strong foundation after being put in to bat first by Kings' captain Babar Azam.

He could have completed fifty on debut but departed as he tried to play reverse sweep off Mohammad Nabi when he was on 49. In his 27-ball 49, he hit three fours and four sixes.

Peshawar Zalmi eventually claimed a comprehensive 55-run win and Haris was adjudged Player of the Match. Haris was asked to tell about his role model in the post-match presentation ceremony on which he said: "Previously, it was Jos Buttler but now I am idolizing Rizwan Bhai more."

Meanwhile, he thanked management for providing him with the chance. "The credit goes to team management and I played how I was told to play."

It must be noted that Haris was part of Pakistan's ODI squad in cancelled series against New Zealand last year in September.
