Pakistan's wicket-keeper batter, Mohammad Rizwan, shed light on the team's rigorous preparations for their upcoming 2023 World Cup clash against Australia on October 20th at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

In a video released by PCB, Rizwan has emphasized the significance of every match in the tournament and expressed the team's eagerness to take on the Australian side.

"For us, every match is important and we are looking forward to this challenge of facing Australia," Rizwan said.

The right-handed batsman also stressed the importance of enhancing their game awareness in the upcoming matches of the ongoing mega-event tournament.

While acknowledging the skill and potential of the Pakistan team, he stressed the importance of enhancing their overall awareness, with a specific focus on fielding.

“I think in our next games, we will have to take a look at our [game] awareness. If you look at all these things, I believe that this team is great in skills — not like we are below every team in the world — but we have to look at awareness," he said.

“In awareness, the most important thing is fielding, we are going to figure out how we can cover the main spot when needed, that’s what I believe,” he concluded.

It is worth noting that both the Men in Green and the Kangaroos have crossed paths in ODI World Cups on 10 occasions, with Australia holding the advantage with 6 wins, while Pakistan secured victories in 4 of those encounters.
