Multan Sultans' captain, Mohammad Rizwan, expressed his satisfaction with his team's journey to the finals in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine.

In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Rizwan highlighted the underdog status his team had at the beginning of the tournament, noting that initially, no one rated them highly.

Despite his own predictions favoring Islamabad or Quetta as the top teams, Rizwan credited Multan's outstanding performances on the field, where both the batters and bowlers delivered when needed.

"If you look from the beginning, nobody rated our team so highly. Even when I look at my own prediction, I felt Islamabad or Quetta would be the best teams because of Hasaranga as well. But the way our team has performed on the spot. Where the batters were needed, they delivered, where the bowlers were needed, they delivered. Even the new boys who have joined us, they have performed in such a way that Multan has started to become everyone's favorite," Rizwan said.

On the other hand, Islamabad United, recognized as a strong team from the start of the tournament, secured their spot in the finals as well. However, Rizwan emphasized the importance of performance on the day of the match, stating that past achievements only contribute to confidence, while consistent daily performance is crucial.

"Islamabad's team has been strong from the beginning. But I believe that the performance on the day of the match matters more. Whatever happened in the past is good for confidence. But you have to perform every day," he further added.

Sultans' journey marks their fourth appearance in the PSL finals, signifying their consistent performance and resilience throughout the tournament. Sultans will take on Islamabad United on March 18 for tournament finale in Karachi.
