Sharma became the latest cricketer to join the elite 11,000-run club in One-Day Internationals (ODIs)
India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, achieved a significant milestone during the second match of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 against Bangladesh at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.
Sharma became the latest cricketer to join the elite 11,000-run club in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). He reached this milestone in India’s Champions Trophy opener against Bangladesh, requiring just 12 runs to achieve it before the match. He reached the landmark in style, accomplishing it in his 261st innings.
Sharma is now the second-fastest player to reach 11,000 ODI runs, with only his fellow Indian, Virat Kohli, achieving the feat quicker in 222 innings.
With this achievement, the fastest batters to reach 11,000 ODI runs are all Indians: Kohli (222 innings), Sharma (261* innings), and the legendary Sachin Tendulkar (276 innings).
This milestone places Sharma among a select group of Indian players who have scored over 11,000 runs in ODIs, joining the likes of Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, and Kohli.
