Indian captain Rohit Sharma has said he is not sure about playing in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027 but is keeping his options open.

Speaking on Monday, Rohit said he would decide based on his form and fitness.

"It’s very hard to say that right now, but I’m keeping all my options open. I want to see how well I’m playing," Rohit said.

"Right now, I’m playing really, really well, and I’m enjoying everything I’m doing with this team. The team is enjoying my company as well, which is nice. I can’t really say about 2027 because it’s too far, but I’m keeping all my options open," he added.

On Sunday, after leading India to victory in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 against New Zealand, Rohit also dismissed any retirement speculations.

"I'm not retiring from this format... make sure no rumours are spread," he said during the post-match press conference.

Last year, Rohit and Virat Kohli retired from T20 internationals after winning the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA. This led to speculation that they might step away from ODIs too. However, Rohit’s latest comments suggest he has not made any decisions yet.
