The participation of Indian captain Rohit Sharma in the captains' event of the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan remains unclear.

According to sources, no clarification has been provided regarding Rohit Sharma’s travel to Pakistan. Additionally, it has not been confirmed whether the Indian cricket board requires government approval for his participation.

Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia stated that discussions about Rohit Sharma’s travel to Pakistan have not taken place and that the matter is not currently on the agenda.

It is worth noting that the PCB has emphasized to the ICC that all arrangements should align with policies and traditions. The matter of Pakistan's name being printed on the Indian team's jersey has already been resolved, with the BCCI confirming that ICC regulations will be adhered to.

For context, ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, a captains' press conference was not held, as participating teams were engaged in warm-up matches across cities in the West Indies and the USA.

The ICC Champions Trophy captains' event is tentatively scheduled for February 16 or 17 in Karachi.
