Islamabad United are scheduled to face Multan Sultans in their next match on April 23 in Multan
Islamabad United's fast bowling consultant Rumman Raees has temporarily withdrawn from the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 following the tragic death of his sister.
Raees shared the heartbreaking news on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), requesting prayers for his late sister during this difficult time. As a result, he will not be accompanying the Islamabad United squad for their upcoming fixtures.
Islamabad United are scheduled to face Multan Sultans in their next match on April 23 in Multan. While Raees will miss this game, the team is hopeful he may return ahead of their April 30 fixture against Lahore Qalandars in Lahore.
Raees, a former Pakistan international, has been serving as Islamabad United's bowling consultant in PSL 10. His presence has been part of the team’s successful campaign so far, with the Shadab Khan-led side winning all four of their matches and topping the points table with eight points.
In their most recent outing, Islamabad United defeated Karachi Kings by six wickets at the National Bank Cricket Stadium in Karachi. Chasing a modest target of 129, United reached the total comfortably with 17 balls to spare.
The opening pair of Sahibzada Farhan and Azam Khan gave United a strong start, adding 34 runs before Farhan fell for 30 off just 18 deliveries. His innings included five fours and a six. Colin Munro followed shortly after, falling for four in the same over bowled by Hasan Ali.
Shadab Khan then joined Azam Khan at the crease and the duo added a valuable 65-run stand. Azam contributed 31 off 30 balls with three boundaries and a six, before being dismissed by Mohammad Nabi in the 14th over.
Shadab anchored the innings with a match-winning knock of 47 off 40 balls, including five fours and two sixes. He was eventually dismissed by Abbas Afridi just before United crossed the finish line.
