Sahibzada Farhan broke multiple records with an incredible knock of 162* off just 72 balls for Peshawar Region against Quetta Region in the 2025 National T20 Cup on March 21. Farhan, who was already in phenomenal form, continued his blistering run in the tournament, delivering a performance that will be remembered for years.

Peshawar, batting first, lost Waqar Ahmed for 15 off 12 balls. Farhan then teamed up with Maaz Sadaqat, and the two built an unbeaten partnership. Sadaqat retired hurt on 54 off 38 balls, while Farhan finished unbeaten on 162*, with 14 fours and 11 sixes. This helped Peshawar post a massive total of 239-1 in their 20 overs.

Farhan’s record-breaking knock not only set a new high for the highest individual score in a T20 match in Pakistan but also placed him alongside cricketing greats. His 162* is now the joint third-highest score in T20 history, equaling the feats of Hamilton Masakadza, Hazratullah Zazai, and Dewald Brevis. Only Chris Gayle (175*) and Aaron Finch (172) have scored more in a T20 match.

Farhan’s recent form is simply astounding. His last four innings have been 114*, 62, 76, and 162*, bringing his total to 414 runs at an average of 207 and a strike rate of 189.9. For context, the record for the most runs in the four T20Is is held by Gustav McKeon from France, who made 373 runs.

With 11 sixes in this innings, Farhan also came close to the record for most sixes in a T20 knock in Pakistan, held by Kamran Akmal, who hit 12 sixes in his 150*.

Despite his brilliance in domestic cricket, Farhan has had a mixed T20I career, scoring only 86 runs in 9 matches at an average of 9.55. However, given his current form, it's likely that his T20I numbers will improve soon.
