Agha expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to adapt
Pakistan cricketer Salman Ali Agha has shared his insights on the challenges that lie ahead for the national team against England in the three-match home Test series. The series is set to commence on October 7 in Multan, and Agha's reflections provide a glimpse into the team's mindset and preparations.
In a recent media conference, the middle-order emphasized the formidable nature of the England cricket team.
"I have an idea of how tough a team England can be and what tough challenges they will give us, but we are preparing ourselves for that and trying to achieve a better result than what happened last time. We definitely have our goals, but the team comes first," Agha said.
The weather conditions in Multan, which can often be sweltering, may provide an advantage for the home team. the 30-year-old remarked on the team's recent experience playing in similar conditions, having just come off a series against Bangladesh followed by participation in the Champions Cup.
"For us, this is a plus point because we played a series against Bangladesh and then played in the Champions Cup. We are used to it, while they are coming in a bit cold, so we will take this as a plus point," he said.
Addressing the recent resignation of Babar Azam as Pakistan's white-ball captain, Agha expressed his confidence in the team’s ability to adapt.
"I don't think there will be any difference. If we look at their batting record in captaincy, it’s outstanding, and this is personally their decision, so we have to respect it. Best wishes to them, and hopefully, they will deliver an excellent performance in this series," he said.
England's aggressive style of play, often referred to as "Bazball," has been a hot topic in cricket circles. Agha acknowledged this distinctive approach, stating, "We have an idea of how they play. We have also made plans accordingly and will try to tackle them in the same way they play cricket."
