Former Pakistan captain Salman Butt recently commented on rumours surrounding fast bowler Shaheen Afridi’s alleged misconduct with a member of the team management.

In an interview with a local news channel, Butt expressed his surprise and concern over the reports.

"I only heard about these reports of Shaheen Afridi misbehaving with the management on TV; there was nothing like this discussed in our meeting with Mohsin Naqvi. I think the management and the captain are very weak if they are just coming back and complaining to the board, they should've taken a decision there," Butt said.

The former opening batter elaborated by recalling a past incident involving Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif.

"Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif fought on something, and it was not that big, but still, the manager of that time sent Shoaib back home in the 2007 World Cup. There is no bowler in the team right now, even half of Shoaib Akhtar's stature. This is like when a small boy gets slapped and says I will call my elder brother," he said.

The rumours revolve around a recent altercation between Pakistan's left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi and batting coach Mohammad Yousuf.

Sources indicate that the incident occurred during a practice session at Headingley on the recent England tour. Afridi’s behaviour reportedly became a point of contention when Yousuf pointed out that he was bowling too many no-balls.

Afridi responded curtly, "Let me practice for now and don’t talk in the middle," leading to a heated confrontation.

The situation escalated, but team management intervened promptly. Afridi was reprimanded and later apologised to Yousuf in front of the entire team, effectively resolving the matter.
