Salman Naseer, the CEO of PSL, shared that there has been a strong demand from franchises for the creation of a separate company to manage the PSL more efficiently.
In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Salman Naseer stated that the franchises have been demanding the creation of a separate company for the PSL for many years. The board also felt that having a separate company would help manage matters more efficiently. The PSL contributes a significant portion to the PCB's revenue. By focusing on it for just 2 to 3 months, we generate a substantial amount, and if we work on it year-round, it will benefit the board, the PSL brand, and player development. Taking these factors into consideration, we decided to establish a separate company.
The 10th edition of the PSL will begin on Friday, April 11, with defending champions Islamabad United taking on two-time winners Lahore Qalandars at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
The tournament will feature six teams and a total of 34 matches from April 11 to May 18. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host 13 matches, including the two Eliminators and the grand final. Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will host 11 matches, including the first Qualifier on May 13. Karachi’s National Bank Stadium and Multan Cricket Stadium will each host five matches.
Additionally, the tournament will feature three double-headers, with two scheduled for Saturdays and one on Labour Day (May 1).
