Sam Billings surpasses Umar Akmal's PSL record

Lahore Qalandars’ wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings delivered a fiery performance in their second match of PSL 10 against Quetta Gladiators at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

The English batter smashed an unbeaten half-century, showcasing an aggressive batting display that helped Qalandars post a strong total of 219/6.

Billings brought up his fifty in just 19 balls — setting a new record for the fastest half-century by a Qalandars batter in PSL history. He broke the previous record held by Umar Akmal, who had reached the milestone in 22 balls during the inaugural PSL season in 2016.

The record for the fastest fifty in PSL is currently held by two active players, Asif Ali and Rilee Rossouw, who both scored their fifties in just 17 deliveries.
