Sam Konstas will make his Test debut for Australia in the Boxing Day Test against India, becoming the fourth-youngest Australian to achieve the milestone at 19 years and 85 days. He joins the ranks of Ian Craig, Pat Cummins, and Tom Garrett, who debuted at younger ages.

Head coach Andrew McDonald confirmed the selection, praising Konstas’ readiness and talent. "Age is no barrier. He's shown his ability to put pressure on opponents with an array of shots. We're really excited for him," McDonald said.

Meanwhile, Travis Head is racing against time to recover from a minor quad strain sustained during the second innings of the Brisbane Test. Although Head participated in light training and batting drills, McDonald remained optimistic about his inclusion. "He looked good with the bat and has been running. I'm confident he'll play," McDonald added.

Australia will also bring in Scott Boland to replace the injured Josh Hazlewood, with McDonald hinting at no further changes to the XI. Mitchell Marsh, now fully fit, is expected to contribute with both bat and ball, while spare pacers Jhye Richardson and Sean Abbott are on standby for the Sydney Test if required.

The Boxing Day Test marks a pivotal moment in the series, with the score tied at 1-1 and both teams aiming for supremacy at the MCG.
