Sana Mir signs off from HBL PSL 7 for her first ICC assignment

The 36-year-old will be the only one from Pakistan in the commentary team for the mega event.

Former Pakistan women's team captain Sana Mir has signed off from her commentary duties in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season seven to join the commentary team of the ICC Women World Cup in New Zealand, starting from 4th March 2022.

The 36-year-old will be the only one from Pakistan in the commentary team for the mega event.

Meanwhile, she thanked her fellow commentators and team for making her experience special and wonderful.

This will be her first assignment as a commentator in an ICC event. Sana first came to the scene as a commentator during the 2020 National T20 Cup.

Since then, she has been part of the commentary team in several international series hosted by Pakistan.

Sana has represented Pakistan in three ICC Women World Cups as a player (2009, 2013 and 2017) and six ICC Women's T20 World Cups (2009, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and 2018). She was the captain in two fifty-over World Cups (2013 and 2017) while she led the Girls in Green in five editions of the T20 World Cup (2009-2016).

Sana had an illustrious fourteen-year long career with some notable records to her name. She holds the record of picking up most wickets in a series (35). She also has the second most LBW dismissals (46) and second-most consecutive matches for a team (73) alongside many other records.
