Sania Mirza breaks silence, wishes Shoaib Malik 'well' in new marriage

Sania Mirza has addressed her divorce in the wake of the announcement that her former husband, Shoaib Malik, has married actress Sana Javed.

Taking to social media on a Saturday, Shoaib Malik shared a photo with Sana Javed, captioning it with the phrase "And We created you in pairs."

Mirza's family subsequently issued a statement, revealing that the tennis star had been divorced for several months and expressing a preference for privacy regarding the details of the separation.

"Sania has always kept her personal life away from the public eye. However, today the need has arisen for her to share that Shoaib and she have been divorced for a few months now. She wishes Shoaib well for his new journey ahead," the statement read.

"At this sensitive period of her life, we would like to request all fans and well- wishers to refrain from indulging in any speculation and to respect her need for privacy."
