Sanjay Manjrekar under fire for 'cracking jokes' after IPL auctioneer collapsed

Star Sports commentators Sanjay Manjrekar and Aakash Chopra went on about business as usual

The Indian Premier League (IPL) auctioneer Hugh Edmeades suffered an unfortunate fall midway during the IPL 2022 auction.

Following the incident, an early lunch was called while Hugh Edmeades received medical treatment.

Former Indian Test player turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar was seen smiling and cracking jokes during the break and social media has not responded well to that.

Galling to see @cricketaakash, @sanjaymanjrekar & the presenter buoyant & cracking jokes after the IPL auction was suspended following Hugh Edmeades' collapse. They could've flashed a message along with a ticker showing auction details & run ads. Put sensibility above enthusiasm!

Some people were furious that the analysis was still taking place while Hugh was undergoing medical treatment and no updates were being provided on the more pressing matter.
