Former Pakistan spinner Saqlain Mushtaq shared his admiration for England's Moeen Ali after the all-rounder announced his retirement from international cricket.
Saqlain took to social media to express his experience working with Moeen, calling him a dedicated and hardworking player.
"Moeen Ali has been a stalwart player for a number of years, a fully committed and hard working individual. It was a pleasure working with him. Wish Moeen a happy and prosperous future. Have a wonderful retirement. Stay blessed," Saqlain worte on X.
Moeen retired after not being selected for England's upcoming series against Australia.
Speaking about his decision, Moeen said, "I've played a lot of cricket for England. It's time for the next generation, which was also explained to me. It felt the time was right. I've done my part."
The all-rounder had a distinguished career, representing England in 68 Tests, 138 ODIs and 92 T20Is. He scored 6678 runs, including eight centuries and 28 fifties, and took 366 wickets across all formats. His final international appearance was in the T20 World Cup semi-final against India in Guyana.
