The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to appoint Saqlain Mushtaq, Head of International Player Development at the National High Performance Centre, as the head coach for the Men in Green during the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The legendary Pakistan off-spinner, Mushtaq, was also supposed to lead the coaching staff during Pakistan’s home limited-overs series against New Zealand but the tour was abandoned by the Kiwis.

The official announcement of Pakistan’s team management for the mega event will be made after approval from PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja.

It must be noted that former Australian batsman Matthew Hayden and former South Africa pacer Vernon Philander have already been appointed batting and bowling coaching consultants for the national side.

Philander will arrive in Lahore on October 6, while Hayden will join the squad in Dubai as he is currently part of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) as an analyst.

Pakistan squad is likely to leave for Dubai, from Lahore, on October 15.
