With just a week left before the first match of the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the ambassadors for the event. Among the star-studded lineup is Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy-winning captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, along with other cricketing legends, including two-time champion Shane Watson from Australia, Shikhar Dhawan, who was Player of the Series in India’s victorious 2013 campaign, and New Zealand's legendary fast bowler, Tim Southee.
The appointed ambassadors, with their vast experience in the Champions Trophy, will offer fans exclusive insights into the competition through guest columns, match attendance, and personal reflections over the coming weeks. The Champions Trophy will see the top eight teams in the world competing for the prestigious white jackets.
Sarfaraz Ahmed shared his excitement, saying, "I will never forget how special it felt to wear the white jacket and lift the trophy as Pakistan's captain in 2017. Seeing the nation celebrate that success with us will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m thrilled to see this tournament return to the calendar and look forward to witnessing my country host such a significant event. Shikhar Dhawan expressed his honor at being part of the Champions Trophy adding, "Being a part of the Champions Trophy is an incredible experience, and it's an honor to serve as an Ambassador for the upcoming edition. The competition is intense, and every match counts. One mistake could end a team’s chances, making it a thrilling event."
Tim Southee shared his enthusiasm, saying, "I’m excited to be an Ambassador for the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025. The Champions Trophy is set to commence on 19th February, with hosts Pakistan facing New Zealand in the tournament opener.
