Former Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed has praised opener Imam-ul-Haq for his maiden century in the opening Test match against Australia.

The opening batsman remains unbeaten on 132 as the first day came to a close. The left-hander struck 15 boundaries and two sixes to get there.

Praising his immaculate form, Sarfaraz took it to social media to praise Imam claiming "he played with a lot of maturity, calmness, and composure."

"Imam, I saw all of your 7 ODI 100s, but this maiden test 100 is the best of the lot. Played with a lot of maturity, calmness & composed. Respect to good balls and showing aggression where it was needed. That is what first-class cricket teaches us. Congrats. InShAllah many more to come," Sarfaraz Ahmed wrote on his social media.
