Sarfaraz Khan welcomes baby boy just days after maiden Test century

Indian cricketer Sarfaraz Khan and his wife, Romana Zahoor, celebrated a milestone in their lives as they welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on October 21. This joyous news came just two days after Sarfaraz scored his maiden Test century during the first Test match against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.

The couple, who tied the knot on August 7 last year, shared their happiness on social media. Sarfaraz's father, Naushad Khan, also expressed his joy at becoming a grandfather by posting a photo with his newborn grandson on Instagram.

Sarfaraz's life has seen a remarkable turnaround since Romana's entry, as he made his long-awaited international debut earlier this year against England. His impressive performance in the recent Test match, where he scored a brilliant 150 runs, has added to his growing reputation, even though India lost the match.

As Sarfaraz approaches his 27th birthday on October 22, he holds his baby boy with pride, marking a special moment for the young family. 

Despite his strong showing, Sarfaraz's position in the team remains uncertain. He had three half-centuries in his previous matches against England but was left out of the playing XI in the recent series against Bangladesh. His chance came in the first Test against New Zealand when Shubman Gill was ruled out due to neck stiffness.

The Indian team management faces a tough decision as Gill is expected to return for the second Test, which begins on October 24 in Pune. Sarfaraz's impressive century may strengthen his case to remain in the squad, especially after KL Rahul's disappointing performances in recent matches, where he scored 0 and 12.
