Nadeem Omar, owner of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Quetta Gladiators, has said that Sarfaraz Ahmed was ready to hand over the captaincy to Babar Azam if he had expressed his willingness to join the Gladiators.

According to details, Babar Azam has parted ways with Karachi Kings and will represent a new franchise. Nadeem Omar opined that they wished to have the Pakistan captain in their franchise, but they couldn't reach to a deal.

"If Babar Azam was willing to be a part of our team, we would have welcomed him. Sarfaraz was even ready to give up the leadership for him but unfortunately, the deal with him was not possible," Nadeem said.

Meanwhile, Nadeem revealed that they have released Naseem Shah and the pacer will enter the draft.

"We will try to add the best players to our squad, our aim has always been to give platform to the players," he added.

It must be noted franchises will announce their trades, and retained and released players today.
