Saud Shakeel has joined an elite group of Test cricketers by scoring a fifty in each of his first six matches.

The left-hander is only the fifth player in history to achieve this feat, joining Sunil Gavaskar, Basil Butcher, Saeed Ahmad, and Bert Sutcliffe.

If Saud scores one more fifty in his next Test match, he will set a new world record.

Saud's fifty came in the second day of the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and Sri Lanka in Galle. He came to the crease when Pakistan was reeling at 67-3 in the first innings, in reply to Sri Lanka's first innings score of 312.

Saud stitched an unbeaten 120-run partnership with Salman Ali Agha to put Pakistan's first innings on track. He was unbeaten on 69* before rain brought an end to the second day's play.
