The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released its latest Test player rankings, showcasing notable shifts among the top players. England’s Joe Root retains the top position, followed by Harry Brook in second and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson in third.  

India’s Yashasvi Jaiswal has climbed to fourth place, gaining one spot, while Australia’s Travis Head has dropped to fifth. Pakistan’s rising star Saud Shakeel has made a significant leap, moving up three places to secure the sixth spot in the rankings. 

Former captain Babar Azam has slipped two places and now stands at 17th, while wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has also dropped two spots to 21st. Salman Ali Agha experienced the steepest decline among Pakistani players, falling five places to 23rd.  

Test captain Shan Masood is ranked 57th, while Abdullah Shafique has dropped one spot to 51st. Indian batter Virat Kohli has also faced a setback, falling three places to 24th.
