The first day’s play of the second Test match between Pakistan and Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has been abandoned due to persistent rain and a soggy outfield.

Bangladesh currently leads the two-match Test series 1-0 following their impressive performance in the first Test. The opening day of this second Test was highly anticipated, especially given the controversies surrounding Pakistan's team selection strategy.

In the previous match, despite posting a formidable 448-6 in their first innings, Pakistan's decision to rely solely on a pace attack raised questions. Bangladesh capitalized on this with a massive 565 runs, led by Mushfiqur Rahim’s outstanding 191.

The Test seemed set for a draw, but Pakistan's second innings faltered, and they were bowled out for just 146. Bangladesh then comfortably chased down a modest target of 30 runs to secure a historic victory.
