Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, delved into the World Cup performances of two prolific batsmen, Virat Kohli and Babar Azam.

While talking with Cricbuzz, Sehwag highlighted the contrasting approaches of the two cricketing stars and provided insights into why he believes Kohli may outshine Babar in the upcoming World Cup.

Acknowledging Babar Azam's prowess as a remarkable player capable of scoring substantial runs, Sehwag emphasized that what sets Virat Kohli apart is his unmatched hunger and passion for the game.

"Babar Azam is a good player; he can score big runs. I feel that the hunger I see in Virat Kohli is not visible in anyone else. Even today, he plays with the same passion and attitude. When he steps onto the ground, it seems to me like he's not 34 years old; it feels like he's 20 or 22 years old, entering the field with energy. And within him is the belief that this is my World Cup, and I have to prove myself because he might not play the next World Cup," he said.

Moreover, the former Indian cricketer highlighted the difference in team dynamics between Pakistan and India.

He noted that Babar Azam often shoulders the major burden of his team's batting performance, while the Indian team has a more balanced batting lineup with several batsmen capable of providing crucial support.

" Babar Azam is a good player. However, the thing is that his team depends on him. The Indian team doesn't depend on Virat Kohli alone; there are other batsmen who can provide support. When a team relies heavily on one player, there's more pressure on that player, and their performance doesn't come out as polished," he concluded.
