The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Interim Management Committee, headed by Najam Sethi, has had their tenure extended by the federal government.

The ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination issued a notification on Monday regarding it, after receiving approval from PCB's Patron-in-Chief and Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The committee's original tenure ended on April 21, but they now have two more months to work till June 21, on reviving the 2014 constitution.

It must be noted that PCB’s former chairman, Ramiz Raja, was dismissed from his position shortly after the national team's 3-0 home series defeat against England.

A previous notice from the government, as reported by AFP, stated that Raja had been dismissed from Sharif's cabinet, and a 14-member committee led by Sethi, who has previously served as chairman, would now oversee the operations of the PCB.

The notice further mentioned that the existing constitution of the board has been abolished, and the one from 2014 would be reinstated. The committee was given a timeframe of 120 days to revise the constitution and elect a new chairman.
