Pakistan cricket team had an optional training session in Ahmedabad on Friday ahead of their World Cup clash against India.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Rizwan, Salman Ali Agha, Mohammad Haris, Zaman Khan, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Abrar Ahmed and Iftikhar Ahmed - participated in the session, while others rested at the team hotel.

The absent players were Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Imam ul Haq, Abdullah Shafique, Saud Shakeel, Usama Mir, and Hassan Ali.

Ahead of the training session, Babar addressed the pre-match press conference, in which he highlighted the importance of toss in the aforementioned clash.

“Considering all the matches that have taken place so far, toss has been vital. Under the lights, the pitch behaves really well. There was dew as well last night. We will also ask the umpires about whether they will spray the outfield for dew,” Babar said.

Pakistan captain is also hoping to get some support from the fans in Ahmedabad during the match.

“We got support in Hyderabad and are hopeful that the crowd will back us in Ahmedabad as well. However, it would have been better for us if Pakistan fans were allowed to travel to India,” he said.
