Pakistan all-rounder is excited about playing the final in Karachi
Islamabad United all-rounder Shadab Khan has said that he wants to win another Pakistan Super League (PSL) title with Islamabad United.
While speaking in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Khan said that the team has a good combination in order to challenge for the title.
“We have a good team combination,” said Khan. “We will try to play and win the final once again this year.”
He added: “Faheem and Asif’s form is a good sign for us. We are happy that we made a good start to the tournament by winning first match against Lahore Qalandars.”
Speaking about his own form, Khan said: “My own form is slightly worrying but I will try to regain my form and put up a good show in the upcoming matches.”
Khan also shared his thoughts about Pakistan’s recently concluded tour of South Africa.
“Our performance was not good,” he said. “As a team we were not able to perform although there were many good individual performances.”
Khan was also upbeat about the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.
“We are preparing for the World Cup,” he said. “The Australia series will be our last chance to fine tune our skills for the mega event.”
He added: “I don’t have any county contract right now because my entire focus is in the World Cup, after PSL. I would like to become player of the tournament and help my team win the event.”
Khan also mentioned former Australia captain Steve Smith and former Pakistan leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed as his ideals in cricket.
“Steve Smith is my favourite player,” he said. “Also Mushtaq Ahmed is my ideal as well because he has coached me as in the past.”
