Shadab Khan, Islamabad United’s skipper, expressed his excitement for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season while reflecting on his journey and achievements with the franchise.

“Being named PSL’s MVP and Best All-Rounder during the draft was a huge honor for me. I feel fortunate to have started my career with Islamabad United, a franchise that truly values and supports its players,” Shadab shared. He credited the team’s supportive environment for their success, highlighted by the three PSL trophies in their cabinet.

As the new season approaches, Shadab is determined to elevate his game further.

“Last season, I was named Player of the Tournament, but my focus isn’t on individual accolades. My priority is to help the team win again. I’ve worked hard in the off-season, and I’m eager to showcase the improvements on the field,” he said.

Shadab also expressed enthusiasm about working with Saad Masood, a promising young talent.

“Saad reminds me of myself when I was starting. While we can’t guarantee him playing time, we will guide and nurture him to become a future star. Our focus isn’t just on this season but on his long-term growth,” he added.

Acknowledging the potential changes in retention rules next year, Shadab emphasized Islamabad United’s commitment to player development.

“Even if Saad moves to another team, we want to ensure he’s prepared for the future. From my own experience, I can confidently say this franchise is the best place for him to grow,” he concluded.

The PSL season 10 will be held in the April-May window.
