Shadab emphasized that his association with Saqlain Mushtaq has been focused on improving his bowling
Shadab Khan has expressed his disappointment over repeated references to his relationship with Saqlain Mushtaq, who is currently serving as a mentor with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Addressing the allegations that his return to the national team was due to his marriage to Mushtaq's daughter, Shadab clarified that his career spans over six to seven years, during which he has delivered several remarkable performances.
In an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Shadab said, "I have been playing for the national team for the past 6-7 years, and I have had some good performances during that time. I got married two years ago, but it hurts when the connection with Saqlain Mushtaq is repeatedly brought up."
He continued, "It is especially painful when former cricketers make such remarks because they know what a player goes through. I’ve previously mentioned that a lot of work happens behind the scenes that isn’t visible to the public. But in our country, results are all that matters. We are working hard for them."
Shadab further emphasized that his association with Saqlain Mushtaq has been focused on improving his bowling, with Mushtaq playing a significant role in his development.
"Saqlain Mushtaq is working with me to improve my bowling. I am hopeful that with his guidance, good results will follow, and there will be consistency in my performances," Shadab concluded.
