Pakistan’s bowling spearhead Shaheen Shah Afridi is upbeat ahead of the second Test against Zimbabwe, starting on May 7.

Pakistan won the first Test match by an innings and 116 runs courtesy splendid bowling performance by pacer Hasan Ali, who bagged match figures of 9/89, and a century, 140, by left-handed batsman Fawad Alam.

“We have been playing good cricket; first South Africa and now here in Zimbabwe by winning the T20I series and the first Test. We are hopeful of winning the second Test as well,” said Shaheen in a video released by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

“I performed well in the first innings [of the first Test] and want to continue that in the second Test as well,” he added.

He was also unfazed by comparison with legendary cricketers, while also stating that he enjoys bowling with Hasan Ali.

“I enjoy Test cricket, session by session, and bowling with Hasan Ali also feels really good. We complement each other on the field really well. I back him when he isn’t bowling well and he does the same for me,” he said.

“There is no pressure as it feels good when people compare us with legends. We are always trying to improve our bowling and help the team win,” he concluded.
