The Pakistan cricket team took part in their first training session in Ahmedabad on Thursday ahead of the upcoming 2023 World Cup clash against arch-rivals India on October 14, at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

A group of ten cricket players, including Babar Azam and Shadab Khan, engaged in fielding practice where they supported each other's throws.

The highlight was an intensive bowling session led by bowling coach Morne Morkel, focusing on spinners' skills like Shadab Khan and Mohammed Nawaz. The training aimed to refine specific lengths and challenge the spinners, monitored closely by Morkel behind the stumps with strategically placed mats.

Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi was also seen giving his best, showing his mettle during bowling and fielding practice.

However, amidst the eager crowd of reporters and fans clamoring for selfies, Afridi made a playful commitment.

"I will definitely take one [selfie], but only after I've claimed five wickets," Afridi said as quoted by RevSportz.

It is worth noting that both Pakistan and India team began their World Cup 2023 journey with two consecutive victories.
