Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has become the most successful captain in HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) history after his team’s dominant victory in the HBL PSL 10 final against Quetta Gladiators.

Shaheen Shah Afridi’s leadership saw the Qalandars secure their third HBL PSL title, with no other captain having won the tournament more than once.

The captain shared a celebratory photo on the social media, showing him with all three HBL PSL trophies, accompanied by a simple “Good morning” caption and a blushing emoji.

A blistering 59-run stand off just 19 balls between Kusal Perera and Sikandar Raza sealed a thrilling six-wicket win for Lahore Qalandars over Quetta Gladiators on Sunday, as they clinched their third HBL PSL title in front of 34,000 fans at Gaddafi Stadium.

Chasing 202, Qalandars got off to a solid start with Mohammad Naeem (46 off 27) and Abdullah Shafique (41 off 28) laying the platform. Despite losing wickets at regular intervals, it was the late fireworks from Perera and Raza that ensured victory with just two balls to spare.

Earlier, Quetta posted 201-9 after being put into bat. Hasan Nawaz top-scored with 76, while Faheem Ashraf’s 28 off just 8 balls lifted them past 200. Shaheen Afridi led Qalandars’ bowling with a three-wicket haul.

With this win, Qalandars joined Islamabad United as the only teams to have won the PSL title three times.
