Left-arm pacer played a key role in Pakistan’s series leveling victory against Kiwis
Left-arm pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi is benefiting from the advice of former legendary Pakistan speedster Waqar Younis as he continues to impress on the international stage.
Shaheen took career-best figures of 4-38 in the second ODI against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi, which paved Pakistan’s path to series leveling victory against the visitors.
According to sources, whenever possible, Shaheen approaches Younis for bowling tips. The latter has taught him how to bowl yorker and off-cutters in a better manner, the source further stated.
“Shaheen speaks regularly to Younis in order to improve his bowling,” the source said. “Tips from the former Pakistan bowling great has provided helpful so far during his short bowling career especially while bowling Yorkers and off-cutters.”
Shaheen has so far featured in five ODIs and seven T20Is for Pakistan — picking up 12 and 11 wickets respectively.
