Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi has joined an elite group of bowlers, equaling Umar Gul's record for the most ODI wickets taken in the first over for Pakistan. This record, which is held by Mohammad Irfan and Wasim Akram, now includes Afridi in the list as well. Afridi achieved this milestone during the match against New Zealand, where he took the crucial wicket of Will Young on the fourth ball of the match.

His impressive start in the match against New Zealand not only tied the record but also gave Pakistan an early advantage from the very first over of the match.
