National High Performance Center (NHPC) bowling coach Umar Rasheed will travel to England next week in order to assist pacer Shaheen Afridi's rehab.

Shaheen, 22, is in England for his rehabilitation of an injury on his right knee ligament which occured while fielding during the first Test in Sri Lanka in July.

He missed the ODI series in the Netherlands and also Asia Cup earlier this month. The lanky left-arm paceman will also miss the seven-match T20I series against England starting in Karachi from September 20.

According to sources, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to send Umar Rasheed to England to oversee all the affairs along with the arrangements for Shaheen Shah Afridi to start bowling.

His visa for England was applied after he returned from UAE, where he was part of the Pakistan coaching set-up as assistant to the head coach.

It has also been decided to include Umar Rashid in the support staff of the T20  World Cup squad in Australia.
