Shahid Afridi believes Mohammad Amir, despite not playing international cricket for four years, still has the potential to return to the Pakistan team.

Afridi, speaking to a local news channel, compared Amir to top Pakistani pacers like Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Afridi.

"Amir can easily make his way into the lineup of the Pakistan team even today. He falls in the category of Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, and Shaheen Afridi. There is still cricket left in Amir and he should play for Pakistan," Afridi said.

Afridi stated that there's still cricket left in Amir and advocated for his inclusion in the Pakistan team.

Former Pakistani fast bowler Waqar Younis also advised Shaheen Shah Afridi to observe Mohammad Amir's performance for Quetta Gladiators against Islamabad United in thein the first eliminator of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9 at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, on Friday.

“I hope Shaheen Afridi is watching that because I think he needs to do that more often. Because early on if it [the ball] isn’t swinging, just hit this length,” Waqar added.

Amir concluded with figures of 2/20 in four overs, limiting United to 174/9 in 20 overs. However, Gladiators failed to chase the target and crashed out of PSL 9.
